SOPHIE 2002 -2005.. R.I.P

Sophie was born on 12th July 2002. She was bred by Gary Davies of South Hetton,Co Durham. I bought her 5 weeks after getting Zac.She also was of good working stock including names like Jade of Livermere and dogs from Wernffryd and Gwibernant. (see pedigree page) I had thought of breeding them together but decided against it due to not really having the time to devote to such a task.So she was spayed at a young age. She also had an umbilical hernia that I didn't notice when I chose her but that was soon fixed by our vet.
She was a very instinctive little dog a pleasure to train. Like the typical cocker very happy, merry and eager to please. Her little tail wagged none stop. She constantley carried something in her mouth. I could never find my mobile or telly flicker. She never chewed them just carried them about. She loved to scurry and hunt things out and was so happy. I think given the chance she would have been a great little worker.
Sophie and Zac were inseprable, but none of this rubbish about never having 2 pups together. They had a very strong bond but at the end of the day they saw me and my husband as 'pack leaders'. i do think she was the boss over Zac though!!!!!!
She was a good looking girl with a lovely silky coat, that complemented Zac's blue roan. She was loving and very gentle natured, but a little timid of other dogs and children which unfortuntely contributed to her sad loss.
On a lovely summer evening in 2005 sadley Sophie was taken away from us. She was killed in an RTA when some little boys ,who only wanted to play frightened her on the field opposite our house. She took off for home just as a car was coming up the street. It was the first time and the last time she didn't 'wait' when I gave the command. We were shocked and saddend at her loss.
